Failcast

Failcast is coming at you this week with a super-sized episode, in which we tackle as much of last weekend’s drama as possible. Get caught up about why people were hugging so much and where a few Dtoid accounts disappeared to, then listen as our host Yashoki discusses the current state of the Destructoid community with King3vbo, Necros, long-time absent Failcast member Charlie Suh, and this week’s special community guest Itemforty. This is just a great, off-topic episode, even if it’s late because of random New Year’s sicknesses. This week (last week) Yashoki, King3vbo, and Riser Glen grill community guest Itemforty, as they discuss spoilers on top of spoilers, what scents drive the ladies wild (answer: the shaft), 10 ways to use a pencil other than writing, and what Pokemon Item is weak against. Also, we might have secretly interviewed Item for some sort of job - listen to see if he made the cut or if he just has no idea what was going on.

We managed to survive our 21st birthday without any alcohol poisoning (despite the best efforts of one Failcast member), producing this wonderful little bundle of fail for you. Our host Yashoki was off trying to get laid, so hosting duties fell to Drunkvbo, who had to be supported by our community guest Excremento. Necros and Riser Glen were also there to make comments about racism and Batman, respectively. Also, community questions seemed to take up the majority of the show, and some atrocious lag at the end killed a few cblog discussions, so apologies for that.

In this episode, special community guest and sports/PS3 editor Samit Sarkar says that no one can accuse Failcast of being boring or not funny, so since we’re awesome no matter what, I think we can officially claim that we’re the best podcast on the internet. Or, as Yashoki would hurriedly point out, we’re at least better than Podtoid, LOLOLOL. Listen as he and King3vbo attempt to grill Samit on “the issues” but end up have a very enjoyable conversation. Samit talks about prepositions and the Yankees, so all of you sports grammar fans are going to have a field day with this episode.

Also, we exposed Samit to your horrible spelling and grammar in the questions post for this episode, and though it’s subtly edited out, there was actually some weeping from the travesties you all unleashed on the English language. Bravo, Dtoid, you are truly internet monsters.

It’s been a while since we’ve had an episode where everyone got really, really drunk, so we asked you, community, to tell us how to drink during the show. I’d like to think that we have completely met all expectations and, in some cases, surpassed them. Note the difference in dialogue between the start of the episode and the end of the episode, not to mention the gradual dropping of speakers by the episode’s closing. This is professional buffoonery at its finest.

The man who ultimately won tonight’s drinking “contest” would have to be this week’s community guest CountingConflict, which we all should have seen coming. Believe it or not, after recording this preview episode, community guest CountingConflict messaged me to apologize for his drunken ramblings. As if this was a bad thing.
